OVERVIEW
On a beach, every surface moves—the sand, the air and even the distance from the projector.Projection mapping onto a bamboo sculpture standing directly on a beach.
None of the conditions a mapping setup assumes are available here. There is no rigging structure, the ground shifts under the projector through the night, and salt mist settles on every surface including the lens. Alignment stops being something you complete and becomes something you maintain — checked and corrected as the sand moves — and the content has to tolerate a target that is never in exactly the same position twice. The sea sets the tolerances, and the sea does not negotiate.

บนชายหาด ทุกพื้นผิวเคลื่อนไหว ทั้งทราย อากาศ และแม้แต่ระยะจากเครื่องฉายโปรเจกชันแมปปิงลงบนประติมากรรมไม้ไผ่ที่ตั้งอยู่บนหาดโดยตรง
ไม่มีเงื่อนไขไหนที่งานแมปปิงตั้งสมมติฐานไว้ที่หาได้ที่นี่เลย ไม่มีโครงสร้างสำหรับแขวน พื้นทรายใต้โปรเจกเตอร์ขยับตลอดคืน และละอองเกลือเกาะทุกพื้นผิวรวมถึงหน้าเลนส์ การจัดภาพจึงเลิกเป็นสิ่งที่ทำครั้งเดียวจบ และกลายเป็นสิ่งที่ต้องดูแลตลอดเวลา ตรวจและแก้ไปตามที่ทรายเคลื่อน เนื้อหาต้องทนกับเป้าที่ไม่เคยอยู่ตำแหน่งเดิมสองครั้ง ทะเลเป็นผู้กำหนดค่าความคลาดเคลื่อน และทะเลไม่เคยต่อรองกับใคร งานแบบนี้จึงวัดกันที่ความทนของระบบ พอๆ กับที่วัดกันที่ภาพบนพื้นผิว
