OVERVIEW
What can a stage become when it begins with the material already growing around it?Visual and lighting design built around a handmade bamboo structure.
Bamboo assembled by hand does not give you straight lines or repeating intervals, which means the lighting cannot be laid out on a grid or copied from a previous plot. Every fixture is placed against the structure as it actually stands, and the irregularities decide the design — a member that leans, a joint that sits proud, a gap that opens where the drawing said there would be none. The result is a rig that only works on this build, on this site, in this year, and cannot be repeated anywhere else.

เวทีจะกลายเป็นอะไรได้บ้าง เมื่อเริ่มต้นจากวัสดุที่เติบโตอยู่รอบพื้นที่นั้นเองงานออกแบบภาพและแสงรอบโครงสร้างไม้ไผ่ที่ประกอบขึ้นด้วยมือ
ไม้ไผ่ที่สานด้วยมือไม่ให้เส้นตรงและไม่ให้ระยะที่ซ้ำกัน นั่นแปลว่าแสงไม่สามารถวางลงบนกริดหรือลอกมาจากแปลนงานก่อนหน้าได้ ไฟทุกดวงถูกวางเทียบกับโครงสร้างจริงที่ตั้งอยู่ตรงหน้า และความไม่สม่ำเสมอคือสิ่งที่ตัดสินการออกแบบ ทั้งเสาที่เอียง ข้อต่อที่นูนออกมา และช่องว่างที่เปิดขึ้นในจุดที่แบบบอกว่าไม่มี ผลลัพธ์คือแปลนไฟที่ใช้ได้กับโครงสร้างนี้ พื้นที่นี้ และปีนี้เท่านั้น ทำซ้ำที่อื่นไม่ได้เลย และถ้าปีหน้าโครงสร้างถูกสานขึ้นใหม่ แปลนทั้งชุดก็ต้องเริ่มจากศูนย์อีกครั้ง
