The structure is built as a gathering point for a specific audience in a specific town, and the decisions that would normally be negotiated with a brand are taken in-house instead. What the archive keeps here is the credit as much as the object — evidence of a studio commissioning itself. This is usually where something gets tried before it becomes something a client can be sold, and the results turn up in commissioned work a year or two later.
